    Study guide!

Well if you are desperate, there is always the Excel books - they cover all of the texts I believe and they're quite easy to find. Alternatively, I know Phoenix Education publishes a study guide which is fairly comprehensive and in-depth though its much harder to find.

PC --> Mac user transition issues?

The mac version of word is frustrating - at least the version UTS has installed. It doesn't even have a word count feature.:( Further frustration with the mac is when I tried to right click...

number of words in 10 minutes

In forty minutes I was personally capable of writing between 800 - 1000 words in the year I did Advanced. So I would say between 200 - 250 every ten mins would be the kinda output I expected of myself back then. Also, may I ask why you need to know how many words can be written in that...

    Study guide!

By this stage you should really be able to use your notes to revise during the trials, as they will serve you like no other. Especially since a study guide will have been developed in trains of thought that are not only different to how you may have been taught but which for the most part...

    Falling Behind....

You shouldn't worry so much - alot of schools are 'behind' with MX2. That said, there is very little new theory introduced in harder Ext 1 topics so thats really just about doing excercises. And once you take that into account you can see thats most of you only have one or two new topics to go...

That said, don't take your Reflection Statement lightly as it contributes a substantial amount to the marks you will recieve. The more clarity, concision and justification there is in your Reflection Statement the better and editing the living day lights out of it will help get it to where it...

    Speech Giving

I'll just go through a couple of points...: First - If you know you aren't a natural performer/speaker, then do not cram for your speeches or presentations ever. You may think you can memorise the night before, but it won't be good. Seriously. Second - Read your content through...

EXCHANGE! 2007 anyone thinking about it?

IMO its probably easier in some ways to go to the northern part of Germany (Hamburg etc) as the climate isn't as extreme as other areas. Plus Hamburg is fairly large so you should be able to find all the amenities you'd want. The only downside is that I imagine the more populous areas like...

    Gay marriage in NSW/Australia

This is just a thought, but considering the amended marriage act defines marriage completely as between a man and a woman, and considering that it is marriage that falls into the hands of the commonwealth. Doesn't that then remove any reason for commonwealth jurisdiction over unions not between...

    Communications/Marketing Degrees - Feedback requested.

When looking at UTS's degree, you should keep in mind that its a communications degree in public communications, not a direct advertising degree - you won't even touch advertising till second year and there is alot of communications study in it. However if you so choose you could do both PR and...

    question question

Given you only state five 2 unit subjects, then all of them will contribute toward your UAI so every strong performance will lift your UAI and every mediocre one will drag it down. However it should be kept in mind that school assessment marks do not equate to actual HSC marks due to the...

Don't worry, all is not lost - there is plenty of time to change your marks around. I remember when I was sitting accelerated 2 unit maths that in the last assessment I moved up more than 15 places in the rankings for 2 unit mathematics as a whole. So its quite possible to change your position...

    Doing subjects at UNSW

Its pretty much like what Jasee said. I'll be doing this next year and you need to make a case for why you want to study those subjects somewhere else. There are basically two reasons they accept: Subject availability. Which means that if the uni doesn't offer your desired subject you can apply...

Alternate entry into combined law - experiences?

It doesn't have to be one you have no interest in - you could go for the degree you would have combined with Law and you'll be putting time, effort and money into those subjects anyway if you do end up in Law. That said, if you hate all the degrees prescribed in a combination with Law then...

    Journalism

Like it says above, any degree or diploma can do it if she is willing to work for it. But if she wants to *study* journalism itself, then she would have to do one of the degrees mentioned [of which I personally reccomend CSU and UTS]. Also as mentioned journalism is very competitive and there...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Re: 2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Beazley? I suppose I lean mostly toward apathy - I do not want another Howard government in any form, but Labor is rather uninspiring. If pressed to vote, which I will be, I'll probably go for a lesser party candidate that leans closer to...
