ext maths and eco. I already know the eco concepts quite well, just doing practise essays. ext maths. Well i gotta revise inverse functions and integration by substitution but thats quite easy. inverse functions is the only worry for me.

scaling is not linear, in the higher 90 in phhysics, it scales higher than chem. yeah, right now I can write quite lengthy essays but atm i wouldn't be able to do it in an hour.. well i'm not sure about the tim riley text book, but the leading edge book doesn't include a lot of current...

^^ I guess that's that then. thread solved. EDIT: so to clarify it all, economics, as far as i know, has always scaled well. However, as i think someone has already said, scaling is not linear. The subject may scale well in a set range of marks but badly in others. cool..

Yeah, at my school most eco kids dont do phys and chem. But she's right in a sense that the reason economics scales well is because the students who take it, generally, are much more capable academically as opposed to students who take, say, Construction. The same applies to chem and phys. And...

This is true. That is why you hear that subjects don't have a set scaling, they're redone every year through this method. This is how the 'difficulty' of a subject is determined. QFT. You're not going to write 4 good booklets (with relevant info) if all you've read is the trusty leading edge...

the people that do that at my school are the grade dropkicks, no worrying if you're missing anything there..

well judging from this thread there seems to be a massive variation in averages. I'm assuming that my grade is just crap at chem because if you don't understand the main concepts you're not going to do good in even an easy test. If (non-selective) schools are gettin >80% averages then my school...

Yeah, what marks would you have to get in the externals to get bands 4,5&6? If all schools are getting fucked over by chemistry.. it would be like 30% for a band 4 hahaha.

i don't know if this is true. Even so, I'd still say there is a HUGE fucking gap b/w uni qualifications and a tafe one. Uni is a whole new level up from tafe.

school is the late 400s are still getting high 90s. It's crazy how yours is 80. :S
