    Preliminary Maths ext.1

    I couldn't read what you typed properly so I re-worked it myself: tan 75° = tan (45° + 30° ) tan 75° = (tan 45 + tan 30)/(1 - tan 45° * tan 30° ) tan 75° = (1 + 1/√3)/(1 - 1/√3) multiply through by (1 + 1/√3) = (1 + 1/√3)2/(1 - 1/3 ) = (1 + 2/√3 + 1/3)/(2/3) = (4/3 + 2/√3)/(2/3) = 2...

    OTEN and the HSC

OTEN's HSC department = a TAFE HSC department = a school. They would scale by the exact same rules as every other school and TAFE that runs the HSC. The only difference is the delivery. Syllabus, scaling, allignment and examination is the same process as for everyone else.

The Education Access Scheme is BS

It is up to 10 points by allocation, but because of the competition for places the EAS cut-off may only be 3-5 below. Thats what the yellow brochure thing says. I think that is a horrible abuse of what EAS is - to apply for no other reason than that you recieve Youth Allowance. EAS is designed...

Is is posible to drop Ext. English in yr 12 ??

Yuppers - you can drop a course basically right up to the actual HSC exam(of course that could mean if you don't have enough units you won't get a HSC...).

    Which is better?

Hi last_chance! Why don't you try the Bachelor in Arts & Sciences at USYD for 75? Its fairly similar and in the same university.

    All about Preferences and Offers

Not all universities notify you of acceptance, and not all universities accept late applications for EAS - check your EAS booklet for details. Well not *all* unis will consider you for EAS if you put them in after 30th November since some have already chosen who is recieving EAS from where by...

    All about Preferences and Offers

As long as that university was in your preferences by the 30th of November then you are considered for EAS from that university as a whole - regardless of the individual course chosen.

    b arts/ b science @ sydney

Actually, when I looked on UAC I couldn't find this degree, which was a severe dissapointment as I had been looking to apply for it so I think it is discontinued despite it still being on the USYD website. And thank for the info on the BSci/BA - it might still be worth considering for myself...

    b arts/ b science @ sydney

To my knowledge the BSci/BA at USYD is basically where you do a BSci for 3 years, then for two years duration *after* your BSci component you do a truncated BA. EDIT:See Generator's post below for more accurate info.:)

    2006 Mac students

Hi Big M!:D Well as you probably already know I'm pretty sure that my Certificate of Languages application with MQ will go through, plus around half of my preferences are at MQ - Arts, Media and Arts(Psychology) among them, so peoples will likey be seeing me around the place no matter what...

    EE2 Marks!

Thats not quite right...your school's scaling doesn't quite matter and since you got first then your internal assessment mark should equal the mark of the highest scoring mw in your class which obviously is 49 or even higher. You should ask Lazarus if that should be the way it works cos IMO that...

I have no idea what I'm doing. A little advice?

To find out whether your course needs an application click on its profile in the TAFENSW site, and look down the bottom under STUDENT SELECTION, somewhere under there it will say SELECTION METHOD - if it mentions the TAFENSW Course Application Form then it is too late too apply for a course...

    All about Preferences and Offers

As it says in my original post, your preferences are automatically resubmitted in each round - and yes you may accept your second preference in the main round and then when you get off in the late or final rounds you can reject your main round offer and accept something from the latter round...

    All about Preferences and Offers

I think its virtually identical, by the look of it you teach computing at high schools after both - its just you do more computing in one than the other. And if you have no interest in the B Arts subjects then I'd suggest you stear clear of them.

    Anyone doing teaching?

BA/BEdu at USYD and UNSW are in my preferences, and if I do any other degree I plan to cap it off with a Graduate Bachelor of Education from MQ or Master of Teaching from USYD so being a teacher is definitely where I'm headed. I intend to teach at high school for english and either french...

    All about Preferences and Offers

Okies, well the two teaching degrees that you are most likely to get into right off the bat are ACU's BTeaching(Secondary:Technology)/BArts and MQ's BScience with DipEducation. If you can't make the cutoff for these degrees then go for Computer Science or IT degrees and once that degree is...

    OTEN and the HSC

OTEN is to be precise, a correspondence TAFE - they send you stuff and you send stuff back and you do your HSC exams at the nearest TAFE at the end of the year I believe.
