You'll learn very early, first years, that lectures are for sleeping, playing games or (for me) surfing the internet on your wireless internet connections.

GOVT1101 and GOVT1105. Except to lecture bash, I ain't turning up to lectures. Actually, I was at the Australian Politics lecture today, but I left before it started. We got out 200 copies of the Update to that class, but I suspect it's because they thought it was a handout for the lecture...

Yeah, I ain't turning up to any more lectures for Government, except to lecture bash. I can't be bothered waiting 4 and a half hours between classes to go to a lecture for a first year subject.

    Recordings

Your local university library should have copies. My recommendation is to listen to different recordings, so that you can understand different interpretations.

hey guys, what do you think about australia is it an equal nation?

Women fare better in society than men. They get better education, better jobs, better rights in courts, better healthcare and all the vestigial remnants of a chivalrous society.

Who will you vote for next year (NSW State Election)

I think to support a party in the lower house is fine, but the upper house should be comprised of independents, who will look at issues not based on Party lines, but based upon the interests of the different groups in our society.

    Orientation Week 2006

Re: O-week My statements applied primarily towards the Women's Collectives, as opposed to the Queer Collectives. The ISA does, however, have a Gay policy - and it has come into place thanks to the work of our gay members. ISA believes that that, based on experience by those responsible for...

I think it depends on what sort of areas of study you're in. For me, Composition has been bloody impressive. We got guest lectures by people as notable as Nigel Westlake and Carl Vine, and in my last two semesters my personal tutors were Nigel Butterley and Anne Boyd - two of Australia's most...

    Help With Attendance

Leave on compassionate grounds. Since you're going to a funeral, it should be grounds for you to gain leave from classes. Not sure how it's done at main campus, but generally your Chair of unit will give you this permission.

    School too girly?

A researcher named Joe Manthey has written extensively on the issue of boys in the school system. I'd recommend his articles as a good starting point in this debate. http://www.joemanthey.com/

    Semester 1 Chatter Thread (2006)

Re: Semester 1 Chatter I wouldn't have a clue what you look like. I've always hated main campus, because at the Con I could just lie in the corridors and sleep if I had long periods between classes (I never did, though I did sleep in a corridor once). I've found a rather nice sleeping...
