Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

There are quite a few scholarships for financially disadvantaged students, and something like $1000 hecs payment a year is not an enormous financial burden for most people, the government is already pretty generous compared to how much it costs to go to uni overseas. And okay, just to clarify...

Are all the good scholarships becoming "indigenous only"? Discuss.

I don't see how this is racist, aboriginals are socioeconomically disadvantaged and most legitimately can't afford to go to university. If you're actually very smart, and get 99.9+ atar, you will get an excellent scholarship. But for everyone else, uni fees and hecs payments are pretty...

    Academic Competitions

They're good for fattening up your list of academic awards for applications. But otherwise, i don't think multiple choice exams are a 100% legitimate way of measuring academic ability.

How much study should you do a day?

Re: For Year 12... It depends whether you're naturally smart, or if you think you'll actually need to work really hard to get the reach your atar goal and get into the course you want. During the year, i did: - ~30 minutes of maths a day regularly, and virtually nothing else. - In the 2 or so...

    Height.

Most girls stop growing at around 16, you might grow around 1-2 more centimetres max, unless the rest of you has yet to be developed (ie. Still finishing puberty) I've been ~170 ever since I was 12 :O

Re: ok guys the commerce cut off at UNSW is 96.70, will it go up or down in 2013????? Wait, does this mean a commerce degree from unsw will become worthless in terms of prestige? And what's your source of information.

    Height.

Yeahh, I wouldn't consider that too short, I'm 170cm, so short would be anyone I'm more than a head taller than. 158cm is only around half a head shorter ;) I barely wear flat shoes though. Wedges are brilliant, or shorter, comfortable heels.

Naah that doesn't sound possible, but it does screw up your feet and in the long term you'll get knee pain etc.

    Height.

160cm is not thaat short for a female, I'd say around 150cm is too short for females, but at least they can always wear heels

MAQ or USYD for Arts degree - all things considered

Haha what? From how you were talking in your other threads it sounded like going to macquarie would save hours of your time every day..... If you actually got the marks for usyd and chose to go to macquarie instead, just to save 10 minutes of travel, that would be extremely foolish.

    Year 12 jerseys?!?!?!

Canterbury was pretty crap for us, only got them about 2 months after they'd promised, heaps of name screw ups, around 10 peoples didn't arrive til another 2 months later, wrong sizes, unfinished seams, and the actual Jersey has a freaking seam straight down the back, so the design is also poor...

"Can I get a decent ATAR with these subjects?"

Just some low scaling subjects off the top of my head. But the point is, although the combination is unlikely, the 'claim' that OP is making is inaccurate. Sure, you can get a decent enough atar with any subject combination, but without some of the 'high scaling' subjects, its pretty difficult...

"Can I get a decent ATAR with these subjects?"

'You CAN get any ATAR with any subject combination. ' This isn't true. Using the atar calculator, if i did standard english, general maths, food technology, business services and aboriginal studies, even if i got 100 hsc mark in every single subject (this in itself would be highly improbable)...

    Co-op scholarships

Mate, the answer to all your questions are on the website in black and white, i don't understand why this is so hard.... 'The academic requirement for entry to the Co-op program is a minimum ATAR of 96 (or equivalent). However, if entry to the specific program is higher, students must meet this...

    writing out of lines ..

Yeah they have to mark everything on the page, but one of my teachers said sometimes stuff gets cut off cos they scan the pages. And since your essay plan should be handed in with your answer, if you run out of time and can't finish an extended response, the marker can take your plan into...

Two people ranked first in course

It depends on the school I guess, cos schools can scale marks however they like, as long as it reflects the rankiings. But at my school, they just round off to the nearest whole number, so heaps of peoplle are on equal rankings in basically all my subjects.

    UAC Preferences

Yes. They look at your first preference, if you make the atar requirement, you get an offer, if you don't make the cut-off, then they see if you make the cut-off for your second preference, and so on, untill there's a preference yoou qualify for. But then you can apply for second round offers...
