it really depends on what school if you're at a good selective, you could get average ranks in everything and still pull off a 95+ UAI. but if you're at a really poor school, you'll basically need to top everything and if you're at a school in between.. i'm sure you get my drift

Yes you can change your course preferences after you get your UAI. No, you will not know all the cut-offs by then. In fact, you won't know any of the 2006 cut-offs. You will know the 2005 cut-offs, but they aren't necessarily going to be the same. So even if your UAI is higher than the 2005...

what i mean is that, suddenly deciding to aim for a course with 99.6 entry after all your school assessments are already finished might be a bit late if you havent been aiming to get top marks in everything all year.

you only have to pay later if you defer payment. and you only have to pay the hecs fee, never full fee. if you pay upfront you get 20% discount.
