re: HSC Chemistry Marathon Archive I'm a little unsure with the bolded part and Sy do you make these questions up? I could use a few for practice lol.

    Chemistry Questions

Re: Buffer solution question Yeah I'm a little unsure if Na has an actual role in the buffer system, or if the CHCOO- ion is just considered and the Na+ from CHCOONa is ignored.

What is the formula for titration?

It depends on the question - sometimes it's easier to use C1V1 = C2V2 rather than c = n/V. It just makes life easier imo but do whatever suits you.

What is the formula for titration?

I tested with C=n/v and it also works. I just got a different answer since wannabesurgeon plugged in the wrong values ie. C1 = 0.3250 not 0.3750

    Chemistry Questions

Acid-base Titration claification Alright in Conquering Chemistry it reads: Fill a burette (Figure 8.5 on p. 215 CCPC) with a solution of known concentration (for example sulfuric acid) and adjust the solution level in the burette to the zero mark†; the solution in the burette is called the...

    Standard or Advanced English?

Do not drop to standard at all costs. It is extremely difficult to gain a band 6 as I think in 2011 only 32 people out of 64,000 attained a band 6. Check the Board of studies website yourself - I'm not making this up. You sound like a moderately strong student, keep advanced english. You can...

    Chemistry Questions

Re: Determining acidity/alkalinity of a salt Alright, thanks a lot guys :) And madharris, can I just ask why the equilibrium will shift left if KOH is a strong base? Is it because that it has a great tendency to attract a proton, hence it does this and forms the reactants, causing the equib to...

    Chemistry Questions

Determining acidity/alkalinity of a salt Hey guys. I'm a little stuck on these 2 questions. Q. For each of the salts below, give the formula and state whether you would expect 0.1 mol/L aqueous solutions to have a pH of about 7, less than 7 or greater than 7. Explain why, giving equations...
