Best wishes to those who apply. It’s a great experience and I enjoyed my time as a BoS mod back in my younger days!

    Cadetship 2020 thread

As in, I didn't take any large breaks >1 month. You don't realise how good school holidays/uni breaks are until you don't have them anymore. Thinking back, it wasn't until I was about the 9 year mark that I got married and had two weddings and a two week honeymoon (so all up a month). Then...

    Cadetship 2020 thread

AFAIK barely anyone uses it in professional services due to data sensitivity/handling requirements. One of the big 4 firms does use it but for non-client data. Better off learning either your accounting/audit standards or Excel/Alteryx if you really are so free... but like I said, you should...

    Cadetship 2020 thread

Depends which firm. IMO if you have time before you start, just enjoy yourself and your free time before things actually ramp up. Even getting through training will be a chore since if you're anything like me, it was the first time I had to consistently stay awake and focused for 8 hours. Then...

    Official Cryptocurrency Thread

LOL. I know that was tongue in cheek but I do miss the old days where there was a stronger correlation between effort and reward.

    PC builds

Surprisingly no, I tend to sit a little more to the right to align with the centre of the monitor. It does great for productivity and gaming.

    PC builds

Totally forgot to post in this thread after I finished the build. It doesn't look that pro but works well.

    Gantt Chart

    Cool. Good luck then.

    Cadetship 2020 thread

Depending on which firm you are at, the unfortunate reality is that those "40+ hours" may very well become 80+ hours which makes the remaining 20 that much harder to find... I found having a structured routine including gym, socialising and studying/uni work on weekends helped keep me on top of...

    Cadetship 2020 thread

It's possible (I did this for some of my degree) but I would wait until you're very comfortable with what you're doing both at work and with your studies. It requires a lot of self-discipline and autonomy, and this is hard to achieve until you know what you're doing. It's also extremely draining...

    Cadetship 2020 thread

I'm glad my old posts are still helpful even today :) And usually the point of the cadetship is to do full time work, and fit your study around it. I think this concept is quite foreign for people who are coming out of high school/first year uni where education was always the main focus but a...

    Cadetship 2020 thread

Good old cadetships. I think there’s still a few people who lurk and come by every now and then. Hope you’re balancing uni and work alright. It’s tough but it makes you... resilient?

    Gantt Chart

Not specifically, but if you can't figure Gantt charts in Excel out, I'd probably save your money and not invest in doing courses which require some degree of commitment to learning/studying.

    Gantt Chart

If you can't figure out how to make a Gantt chart yet with all the tutorials, I suspect you'll find the various other components of the PMP course a bit challenging....

    ATAR with doing 3 commerces

If you're doing well in them then of course it's possible. I dropped legal studies after year 11 when I saw how much effort it required and how little results I got from it. Had I kept it, maybe my UAI (yes I'm that old) may have been different. Oddly enough legal-based subjects ended up being...
