My parents have got this intricate and rather expensive drinks bet with each other riding on my results but they refuse to cut me in on it, so I think I'm going to get my revenge by waiting a few hours before telling them what I got :).

One of my best friends managed to stick it out until the notifications arrived in the mail but she genuinely didn't care about her results and so it wasn't very difficult for her. Just get it over with quickly and don't spend five unnecessary days thinking about it?

Yeah I got mine last night at our speech night and I didn't realise until then that the nomination meant you actually GOT the scholarship. I hadn't been that fussed about it until I got that piece of news :).

Don't judge by page count, judge by word count. If you're writing the same amount as everyone else but in less pages then there's nothing wrong. Also, the exam booklets are ridiculously spaced.

IMHO it comes down to the fact that parents feed, clothe and just about do everything for their children - including accepting liability for their child's behaviour in some cases. Teachers don't have that level of responsibility. It might take a village to raise a child but parents are the ones...
