    Law through fiction and non-fiction

Oh I love a few good men!!! I think I was attracted by many things and had a very romantic view of the legal profession and system. I am glad though that for the most part my passion has remained after studying law for a year. Don't forget Boston Legal!

    Preferences?!?!?

I was told you get considered for each preference equally no matter if its 2nd or 5th, so you wont miss out because its lower on your list if you are eligible unless you get accepted for something b4 that.

    Law degree workload

I am social science/ law student who just completed first year at UWS. I work one 8hr day a week during semester and have a boyfriend (thus some form of social life). I managed high C's and a HD in law subjects and still get to see my friends, its not as bad as most think. I went 14hrs a...

    UAC scale uni marks?

I have been told they do scale, however it is unfair to assume UWS students recieve D's easier because of lower UAI's etc... Like anyother uni there must be fewer HD's than D's etc, it may be slightly easier due to the supposed lack of competition but the uni still has standars to uphold and...

    Save sex?

I think people focus way too much on waiting till MARRIAGE, yes I do think it is important to wait but there are many equally as valid reasons to wait. Waiting till you are both ready, waiting for the right time, waiting for the right person, waiting until you are in a serious relationship...

Law at UWS vs Accounting at UTS

Re: Law at UWS? I always stand by doing what you have an interest in, you will not do as well if you are in the uni you want but a degree you have little interest in (trust me I know heaps of my friends who have failed and had to work hard to transfer into what they want because of it). As...

Transfering into law: unrealistic with 92.35 UAI?

I am currently trying to transfer into macquarie law from UWS law with a UAI of 94 and a GPA of 5.125 (5.0 is a credit gpa at UWS, 1HD, 6 C's, 1 P), somehow I dont think my GPA will quite cut it. I am not sure how successful I will be but I am crossing my fingers. With a good GPA its not...

:) Advice Needed - To drop or not to drop? :)

Yeah at my school a lot of my friends did that and ended up having to do pathways at the end of yr 11 etc... I hold that if you stick with interests and ability you can achieve. I never expected over 90 and many told me I couldnt with my subjects, but it still happened. Good luck :)

:) Advice Needed - To drop or not to drop? :)

Any combination of any subjects can give rise to any UAI. You need to pick the subjects you are best at, the ones you enjoy and the ones that will benefit you, not the high scalling ones. I was no where near the dux of my school so this example may not be as useful but with 10 units Legal (Band...

    from arts to comm

If you did arts then transfered into arts/commerce you would get credit for units in the arts component but not the commerce one but it would be fine because you would catch up easily by taking more commerce units as you would be ahead in the arts subjects (most likely), you might get credit for...

    Transfer from UWS

Its no harder than any other uni, get a good average and you should be able to do so and most uni's will give you credit for what you studied.

An alternative choice - UWS Law

Trust me they do not hand them out any easier, it seems in my classes that few D's are given out. The argument often is it should be easier because the student's are 'less intelligent' or 'lazy' because the cutoff is lower but you should remember, we do have hard working students, high UAI...

    Exam Results - Implications

Am I too complacent if I am happy enough with 1 HD and 3 C's in law subjects, I mean I would have loved higher marks but I found it wasnt as easy as it seems. I hated torts something shocking, I just held out from criminal. <3 criminal!
