An alternative choice - UWS Law

I have been at UWS for a year and I think it is a good choice for those who just can't quite make the cutoff at other uni's however even though I think the program is good and am sure the work is similar across the board, I do not think it is fair to 'sell' the uni to anyone, which uni you...

    UWS Law

I am looking at transfering to macquarie, they arent too specific about what you will need but they will give you credit for your law subjects. I am hoping my uai of 94.0 and above credit average will do it. My advice is to get into the law program, work hard and if all else fails you will...

    Approx. law student breakdown?

I may be mistaken, I thought it was a bit weird, I just figured it was right because the cutoff is very high

    Exam Results - Implications

Meh, I have never recieved a WAM, but then again UWS has a weird grading system. I am not sure how it goes at other unis but one of my tutors told me that UWS loves a bell curve and there must be so many P's, C's D's HD's etc each one less than the one prior. I guess I will have to wait and...

    Approx. law student breakdown?

    Exam Results - Implications

This might be a weird question to ask, what is a WAM? I've only ever been given a GPA. That said my last semester GPA was 5.0 (Credit average) so I am hoping the marks from this semester are better, especially because it will give me a better chance of a transfer but I doubt it with many...

    Mooting - Structuring Submissions

Re: mooting layout Don't write it as a speech because if the judge asks you a question you might lose your place, what I have found that works for me is a page of points clearly and neatly organised under headings of issues etc.. So for my bail ap I had headings such as presumptions...

Can someone please give me an honest opinon?

:uhhuh: Well said. Just because the uni does not suit some does not mean its crap, I am attempting to transfer because the course I originally chose UWS for isn't what I want anymore and what i'd prefer is somewhere else but don't let that influence your decision. Do what you want not what...

    An annoying question!!

It would depend which school each unit is from, I have had psychology school units, law school units, social science units etc...

    Course transfer outlook

Into UWS law, they don't consider your UAI and ask for an above credit average I believe. There were many transfer students in my class so I wouldn't say its too difficult. Good luck :)

    Case Help - Ali [2006] UKHL 14

Re: Grounds for Appeal and Issues Take your time and read it carefully, judges will make reference to such things its hard sometimes to isolate it, it takes a little getting used to. I'll have a look if I get a chance after my two exams on Monday, but good luck :)
