Update on superanniation question: my teacher told my class that he believes the answer to the question is ~$90000, but according to the official solutions, the answer is ~$36000. he said that he's going to mark the papers according to his own solution of $90000, which is crap for me :(...

to add...CM_Tutor.... ....he can answer just about any maths question that you throw at him (at least as far as i've seen). invaluable resource. :)

i was gonna mention those bridging courses.... ....but y not just get it out of the way in high school?? at least the option is there, but for anyone who is in a similar position to astro....IMO, doing it in school is better than taking time out to do it while ur at uni.

do u know how long the helpline opens for?? i should give the teachers some of those questions from the extension section of cambridge...might be interesting to c whether they actually respond within that day... :)

general maths isn't "recognised" as a maths course by universities, as far as i know. 2u maths is a prerequisite of a lot of degrees...especially from the faculty of commerce/business etc. so if i were u, i'd persevere with 2u maths. i think it'd be more difficult catching up on general maths...

heh :) are u allowed to drop SOR at oakhill? (since it's a catholic school) at my school, our timetable basically rotates around SOR. no matter what your subject selection is, u MUST include SOR and ur not allowed to drop it in year 12 :(

looks like u and me are in the same boat :) for an asian, i don't think 170cm is that short. a lot of asian chicks are only around 158-165cm anyway. like i said in an earlier post, most of the asians at my school range between ~166-178, so IMO 170cm is probably just below average for an asian...

my interpretation: from memory, the question asked: "how much in total did Jordan put into the fund after 20 years". i don't think it was how much the fund was worth. but then again, my memory could be failing me :) if my interpretation is correct, then it would be ~36 000. anyway...

there was a table with three values of t and three values of x. the way i did it was to sub all the values into "x"....i found one of the constants and then had to solve simultaneously to find the other two.

maxima and minima - what did u get? i think i got something like ~20000 cubic cms i got two values for x, but only one gave a maximum (the other one gave a minimum). i hope i'm right :)

i got ~36 026 (i think) it was like 500+560x1.12+560x1.12².... was the 2nd instalment $560? just wanna make sure btw. what is this athletics question???? i did the actual cssa paper....there was no athletics question.
