btw. i plugged some figures into SAM and found that if I were to get 98 in 2U and 47 in Ext 1, that I'd have to get 89 in Ext 2 to get the same UAI (assuming I get 94 in Ext 1). is that really worth it? it seems to me that it's easier to get 98 in 2U than to get 89 in Ext 2.

that was me :) eco - did some study and got good marks in my assessment task, another one was a speech/extended response task. chem - made models, did a magnesium-burning prac. all-in-all - they're both good subjects. i never said chem. was easy, but it's not overly difficult either. so...

ok, sounds pretty good to me. comparing the workload of 2u + ext 1 with ext 2...are they approximately equivalent or is ext 2 work still even more intensive than the two combined? coz i don't want to take time away from other subjects to study for a subject that i might drop in the end...

i think the workload has only increased coz yr11 is 3 terms long. it's probably the same amount of work (or maybe even slightly less) crammed into three-quarters of the time! at least yr12 is 4 terms, except for the fact that the trials are only three terms into yr12 (at least it's still...

does that mean if a person got 95 in yr11, he/she could get 100 in the hsc?....seeing as a lot of people ctually improve their marks in yr12.

lol. average growth during puberty is ~10-12 inches (25-30cm). looks like your brother gonna end up around 6'5".... whether or not that's a bit too big is up for debate...

wow. u've still got 10 days... ...when did/do your trials start? (i.e. first trial) at my school (and for most catholic schools) they started last monday (at least i'm in yr11 so i don't have to worry about it for another year :))

Suppose you have to solve: ln(2x+15)=2lnx then the only solution is x=5 since x>0 but suppose the equation was instead: ln(2x+15)=ln(x²) would there then be two solutions i.e. x=5 and x=-3? :confused:

wow. pretty intensive. the one flaw with our system is that if u don't want to be elected u might still become a prefect...although this rarely happens.

yea... or i could look it up on the net, but it's always more interesting to hear it from someone who's experienced it. btw. do things like relaxation exercises etc. help to alleviate the symptoms?

sounds like u regret selecting every subject u do except for english and chem...and ironically chem requires some maths... :confused:

i think it probably would be best to ask your teacher. even better still, try asking the subject co-ordinator or even the teacher in charge of the academic aspects of the school e.g. at my school, there's one person who oversees all the subjects and the curriculum. they'd probably be the best...

say for instance BNW/BR: it's not everyday that i would actually read something along those lines (or even conveying the same issues). is it best just to read stacks of books and hope u come across something related?

i'm in the same position (pretty much), except i'll be searching for a girl :) i wonder if the abc population is growing...coz a lot of the asians i know are "very asian"...i don't know if it's that easy to find abcs around sydney... ???

whether it's a ticket to better life or not is really up for debate (people commit suicide over it, which is hardly a "better life"). that aside, it''s still important. it opens up many more opportunities for your future...there's nothing worse than getting stuck at a dead-end in a maze u don't...
