Katie sees that she has missed the opportunity to stalk Lynn via internet photos and wonders if she would be able to see them too sometime? Katie is also very sad as in a few minutes Bear in the Big Blue House will be over and she has been very much captivated by the singing and dancing. She now feels like exploring and looking for treasure.

Justin is now worried about Katie, as he doesn't think it's healthy for a HSC student to be watching Bear in the Big Blue House.

Katie greets Justin and explains that its nothing to be worried about, she saw De-Lovely yesterday and now wants to watch lots of singing and dancing. She is also waiting friends to arrive and join her in looking for treasure. She can see chocolate treasure on the table near her but is too lazy to reach it. Maybe she should make extend-o-arms

Katie would also like to inform Justin that she just succumbed to the enticing siren call of the Lindt and Cadbury on the table and has discovered that he good for nothing sister ate the whole top layer of Katies Cadbury Milk Tray when she was visiting the day before. Katie is now off on a mission to see if her sister has eaten all the cake in the fridge too.

Katie feels Justins pain and asks if he would like Lindt, Cadbury or Chocolate Mousse Cake? It was her birthday yesterday and she has lots and lots of chocolate

Justin wishes Katie a happy birthday, and would indeed like some chocolate. He has the feeling, however, that wanting chocolate is very different to getting it.

Would Justin be correct in assuming that Katie is 18 now?

Katie affirms that she is indeed 18 now and has a spiffy badge with 18 on it to prove it. Although she feels very much the same as she did when she was 17

Justin knows the feeling, as he doesn't feel the need to do all the "18 years old things".

Katie wonders what exactly "18 year old things" Justin is speaking of? All her new 18ness has given her so far is a whole lot of chocolate and 'The Idiots Guide to Creative Writing'

Justin states that 18 year old things are pointless drinking, smoking, etc; all of which he has no interest in.

Katie understands. She likes alcohol a little but has never understood the need some people have to go out and get completely smashed every night of the week. She also detests smoking. Katie would like to partake in more sensible "18 year old things" and feels like creating a new idea of "18 year old things"

Justin suggests that a more sensible 18 year old thing would be going down to the local club for a game of lawn bowls every weekend, or even talking about politics.

Hmmm Katie suggests 50s Bowling rather than lawn bowls. Although bumpers are absolutely necessary or else she ends up with a score of 0. Although Katie has also managed to end up with a score of 0 even with bumpers. She thinks she may be in a no win situation. Katie also applauds Justin for resisting the pointless pastimes of fellow 18ers

Justin chuckles at Katie's ineptitude at bowling. He has had no time to resist the pointless temptations, as he turned 18 only three weeks before the HSC, and with puppies in the house, he has had almost no time to do anything.
