Regretting your course, regretting your choice of uni?

    B. Med Sci UNSW- 3 years of hard work, social sacrifice, health sacrifice, a GPA of 3.9... for what reason exactly? To earn ever so slightly better money as a lab assistant compared to what I earn right now as a dispensary assistant.... Guess I'll do Masters of Pharm; however my boss (at the...

    Science degree without HSC Science?

You'll find chemistry VERY full on, biology is typically taught at a speed & level that someone with no prior knowledge can cope with, don't even consider doing physics though.

What Excercise Did You Do Today?

This may also have a bit to do with it; prior to my current program I was doing a 4 day split, where over a period of 3 months I think the only thing I started lifting heavier was incline bench; and squats were only performed once a week on the smith machine. Would flat feet have anything to...

What Excercise Did You Do Today?

Pyramid to 5 rep max flat bench (92.5kg) Pyramid to 5 rep max squats (82.5kg) Yes... for some reason I can bench a lot more then I can squat, I've inherited off my dad disproportionally short legs for my height. Pyramid to 5 rep max barbell rows (62.5kg) 5 mins of core stabilizing...

    Motivational tips for bodybuilders!!

After reading 'how to win friends and influence people' I've tried really, really hard not to critize people, no matter what their way of thinking. But this is just beyond moronic, it's retarded! I guess some people in this world just view it in a very weird way.....

    Motivational tips for bodybuilders!!

Strong first post... But solid advice. When you've had a shit month (only very small changes in weight, lifts etc.) it's awesome to look back and see that you have actually improved in physique.

    Drugs during the HSC.

For some it can be a life changing experience, the complete separation from ego and former sense of self that can occur with many psychedelics can hugely change ones outlook on life and perspective of self. The flood of serotonin that is released from CNS 5HT neurons leads to a sense of...

    Anyone here do strength training?

Good work bro, those were some f&*kin strong lifts; I never realized how tight ass they are about the slightest shuffle of a foot in bench press, jeez...

    My gym workout

If you've got some serious time on your hands, there is some great reading to be done here: Madcow Training - Table of Contents, 5x5 Programs, Dual Factor Theory, Training Theory On the subject of bench press, how much do most bench press barbells weight at gyms? The ones at my gym are...

    GYM Membership

I just started back up at the gym I was going to over the summer holidays, it's brand new with all these crazy looking machines. They also have ~15 different classes including boxing and gravity training. But they charge a freakin premium, I'm on a cancel at any time membership (didn't want to...

    Drugs during the HSC.

As soon as HSC was over I raved pretty much every weekend for 2 - 3 months. I particulary remember Shrek II's and Batman's being mind blowingly awesome; a good friend of mine still has a highly incriminating clip on his phone of me shuffling around in his kitchen at a million miles an hour.

The Thread for ALL FIRST YEAR QUESTIONS.

This is quite weird. In week 1 I only have ~5 lectures, and in week 13 I only have tutes and labs.

    Question about WAM at UNSW

Yes.. Those advanced science seminars with Rifkin definately raise the bar compared to what a B.Sci student does. @Survivor- That was my impression, that only the 4th / honors year determines what class you receive in science.

    READ ME: Science degree FAQs

Synthetic chemists, especially those also with experience in High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) seem to be in demand at the moment and paid quite respectively (70 - 120k).

Depression and the HSC - how do you cope?

I had my special consideration form approved by UTS, Usyd, Macquaire and UNSW due to a combination of chronic depression and glandular fever... I do remember it quite clearly stating on the front page that severe stress & anxiety will not be considered except for exceptional circumstances (as...

    The S1 2009 Results Prediction/Real Thread

They aim to get a bell shaped distribution of results, but if a heap of people do really well they aren't going to scale them all down. I've had a couple of courses where they've put up a slide showing the previous years distribution of marks. It tended to always be pretty close to 10% got HDs...

What Excercise Did You Do Today?

Ah yes, I remember not being able to pick up a pen for the rest of the day following advanced english due to my hand being so cramped. - Went rock climbing last night for 2 hours, fore-arms are pretty dam sore today.
