    4U Maths or not?

If you're capable of doing 4U then by all means pick it up. I technically had the marks to (my school wanted >75% and I was averaging 78%) but with that said I find 3U enough of a hell as it is and if you don't *really like* maths, I wouldn't recommend it. I've heard enough horror stories from...

    Games & HSC

I usually do work until ~7:45, after that it's basically relaxation/game time for me :D Following and during exams though I do work a lot more; until 9-9:30ish.

Assignment and exam on the same day

I'd do the assignment first. If you really are a fast learner you won't find it too difficult memorising the responses closer to the exam date; it's stupid doing an assignment the night before on the other hand.

    Subject Choices

I wouldn't recommend EE2 unless you're prepared for the amount of time it will take up. Trust me on this one; it's a LOT of work for just one unit.

What happens if i absolutely ace the Finals

Nope, your internal marks do contribute, as far as I'm aware. :(

    ATAR estimate; >95 or nah?

Heh, thanks. :3 I'm not great at the maths just thought I'd keep my options open at the time. Last task for chem I was =12th, I messed up a little on the multiple choice for the second task -_-

    Filed complaint against teachers.

I spose it also depends on what kind of school you go to (i.e. private/public) in terms of what could be done about the teachers. At the school I go to, which is private, my cohort has "fired" about 3 English teachers in the span of 1.5 years (thankfully I wasn't taught by any of them xD). Bit...

    ATAR estimate; >95 or nah?

I've listed the ranks I know as of yet and the percentage of B6/E4s achieved at my school last year (ranked in the top 10). If anyone could be kind enough to please post an estimate :) Mathematics: 19/63 41% B6 in 2013 Ext I Mathematics: 21/37 50% E4 in 2013 Adv English: 1/146 58.5%...

LOL All you people are crazy, I usually go to bed at 9:45ish, wake up at 6:30. I need that much sleep to function -_-

    Demotivated.

Dude I'm sure it's fairly normal to feel demotivated at this stage...I know I did, my half yearlies were last week and it honestly took so much God dang effort to study at all. With that said, it may be useful to just remember this is it, and we've got less than 8 months to go until the end...

*cries* So I think I failed the MX1 half yearly

Ah. Allow me to clarify. I generalised a little, I spend 900x more time on *maths* as a subject than any of my other subjects. Obviously I don't spend all my time on exclusively extension 1 topics, that is doing it wrong I agree!

*cries* So I think I failed the MX1 half yearly

Master in English perhaps not, I came first in both Adv. and EX1 in Y11 though. Marks or rank haven't really changed since then. :3

*cries* So I think I failed the MX1 half yearly

Yep, fair enough, the marks are due back next week and I guess if I don't do that well hey, I have a spare unit that won't count  Thanks for the advice guys!

*cries* So I think I failed the MX1 half yearly

Hello there. So I sat the MX1 paper yesterday and uh, it didn't go so well. Obviously I haven't got any marks back yet though I'm genuinely convinced I failed. Paper was out of 50 and I couldn't do close to a quarter of it...obviously I put down stuff in the vain hope of "please give me one...

Do any of your parents force you to do what you don't want?

Yeah my parents were heavily into the sciences and all that, both were doctors and wanted me to continue the "family tradition" so to speak. Unfortunately my marks in the sciences are generally less strong than my marks in English or Maths but hey, I don't hate either bio or chem (didn't do...

Just had my first English Assessment Task for the year...

The most important thing about English is that you answer the question. Did you link it back to belonging? Did you support your argument with analysis? Are you familiar with the BOS verb glossary? Nah I don't think you were going out of control, with the wordier questions it's good to highlight...

    Stressing out :/

Dude I'd drop the maths extension over English. The absolute lack of effort required for EE1 when I was in Y11 made up for the hours of MX1 I'd have to do each night. I like to think of it as, they balance each other out, in a weird and twisted way.

"Share with the class so we can all benefit"

I'm all for helping people with their work but personally, have never shared my work. I get possessive XD In contrast to yours, my English teacher has explicitly told my class before not to share notes around. Which kind of goes against most of the stuff you read on here, but then again, my...
