    Feeling Like Shit?

I've actually been feeling calm during this HSC exam period... something I never expected. I feel confident and calm about upcoming exams, which is something I hoped would happen (but never expected to)

    Werid ass dreams haha

I haven't been having HSC-related dreams, but I'm sure the HSC is making me have wacky dreams. Last night I dreamt about this indian or asian guy in a wheelchair that came into my backyard stealing oranges/lemons from my citrus tree, and I was telling him off. LOL go figure

    whos ready for maths??

I've been ready for 2unit for quite a while. However, MX1 is a different story - I'm genuinely not ready, unlike people like Namu, who say they're screwed, but will pull off a HSC mark of 45+/50 guaranteed lol. ;)

    Estimate your Raw Mark

    Option: Communication

yes thats correct but i've also read somewhere that tympanic membrane also plays a role in equalising pressure, and that pressure is equal on both sides of the membrane. lol if the marker don't like it, then hopefully my two other points will suffice.

    noninfectious disease?

lead poisoning did it in a table.. and just learnt it from the chem course. lol i initially fell into the trap of writing about an infectious disease.. luckily after i started writing occurence i realised that i was talking about infectious. lol @ dolbinaus comment about being people...

    General Thoughts - Biology

Re: how did you go? well pretty much, but hey did i break that rule for the 8-marker on the donated blood. i wrote well over the lines, squished a whole lot at the bottom, then moved and put an arrow leading to the page on the back where there was half a page of blank space and finished...

    General Thoughts - Biology

Re: how did you go? In my opinion, Parenchyma cells was the more correct answer (according to my teacher too), but I'm sure they'll also accept companion cells :) , as it is arguable.

    Option: Communication

The question was: HOW could you use a first-hand investigation and information from secondary sources to determine if this structure functions as a tympanic membrane. Initially, I outlined the structure and functions of a tympanic membrane, what it needs to do to actually be a tympanic...

    General Thoughts - Biology

shit i didn't name the hair cells as mechanoreceptors. I named these as hearing/auditory receptors, and then named hair cells and where they are found. photoreceptors i did fine. would i get the 2 marks u reckon???

    Band 6 cutoff?

don't worry, its definitely incorrect. i'd imagine this year's band 6 cutt off to be around 85/100. Usually its around 82-83, but since this year was easier (in my opinion), then it'll be around 85.

    General Thoughts - Biology

i was tossing up between companion and parenchyma cells. I chose parenchyma, coz thats how i've learnt it, and thought the companion were the ones in the middle where the sieve elements are, surrounding them. my teacher said parenchyma was right, but who knows. i think they'll accept both...

    multiple choice answers

Well this year's paper had a lot of Maintaining a Balance - a topic I like and know heaps from. Although, I reckon they're definitely marking harder this year, cause of the easier questions (well at least in my opinion). My teacher said that head markers look at around 200-300 randomly picked...

    multiple choice answers

yeeah the 8 marker was a little ambiguous. i reckon maybe 6/8 for me (5 if they mark really strict). i think this year they're gonna mark harder, since it was an easier paper.

    Band 6 cutoff?

they read everything you've writen on the paper provided. I've seen plenty of past band5/6 sample responses that go WELL over the given lines. I don't think that ANY of my short answer responses were contained within the given lines LOL

    multiple choice answers

really good, straightforward. i reckon 53+/60 for short answers, including any little possible screwups or not enough detail bla bla. but i feel really confident about ALL my answers. :) :) and for my communication option, should be 20+/25 for sure. So hoping for raw in high 80s :) And...
