I hate the culture in the USA where tipping is expected... even if the service is shit. Also they have those "service fees" which are basically an imposed tip. Their staff should be paid a decent rate and people shouldn't be expected to tip.
I work in hospitality and usually it is only...
I don't think that changing the ages would make a difference. Dickheads will be dickheads.... no matter what the law is. In my opinion anyone that gets in a car after drinking is an idiot. Changing ages won't do anything.
Plus should a 16 year old really be able to drink alcohol legally...
So a university's worth is based on how nice the campuses are?
Both UTS and MAQ are good unis. Each have their areas of speciality... e.g. macquarie is highly regarded for actuarial, psych etc... UTS for communications, IT, business etc.
Living on campus would definately not be cheaper than travelling lol.... you are looking at $120+ a week.... add on food, bills, etc and it is expensive. But it may be worth it if you have a really long distance to travel.
Businesses who pay illegal cash in hand don't want that money kept track of.... they want that money to be invisible, as if the business hasn't earnt the money.
If they are paying legal cash in hand then it will all be recorded on the payroll/in the books.
Katie, you forgot to mention Sweethearts in your description of A/W nightlife!!! The place to get a pizza in the early hours of the morning! And at dinner time too....
But rule of thumb for A/W nightlife is this.... Albury has the nightlife. Wodonga has none.
Dean St is the place to...
Yep... you can be paid cash in hand, but have filled out an employment dec and be paying tax on your earnings. Then it is legal.
"Cash in hand" though often refers to where there are no records of your employment and tax is not being paid by you or your employer on your earnings. Then it is...
Jane is totally right, for some people communications wasn't their cup of tea. It doesn't mean it is shit and you won't get a job. If you enjoy communications, it won't be a waste of your money. If you find it isn't your cup of tea, transfer.
There is a reason why UTS has the good...
I saw this film today and found it really funny.... the cheesy-ness and somewhat dodgy acting added to the adorable kitch-ness which gave the film it's charm in my opinion. Though it was strange to see a "Mr Darcy" who wasn't Colin Firth lol.
My parents own a pizza shop... it's open really late at night, hence there are a lot of drunk people.... the amount of pizzas we have lost (usually due to drunk people bumping in to us when we are trying to serve) is probably a huge number!!
Well... you could go and if you had a falling out you could go your own way and travel solo.... it would depend I guess on where you thought the relationship was going...
But the money thing... hmm I don't think I would pay for someone I had just started going out with.... I think I would...
UTS has a really good exchange program too... I am hopefully going on exchange next year to the UK... I'd really like to study at the University of Westminister in London because it has a really good media faculty.
Nearly everyone living on campus will not know anyone... just introduce yourself, most people will be in the same situation as you... you will quickly make friends.
Living on campus is great.
Those countries are fairly cheap to go to anyway so it will probably be good... I'm sure you will have an awesome time, I loved Vietnam and I would love to go back and do Cambodia and Thailand.
It depends on you and what you can handle. I think you could definately work at least 15 hours a week with that uni schedual and still have time to study.... but that is just me. Last year I worked 36 hours per week + uni and still had time to do all my uni work... but for my course you don't...
Take a pen and a piece of paper if you are feeling really motivated.... I usually take nothing with me now lol!!!! I've been in classes where everyone is asking everyone else if they have a pen that they can borrow lol.
I so don't feel like going back to uni.... I just came back from travelling for a while and now I just want to pack up my bags and travel the world... unfortunately I don't have the money to do that....
I'm really interested in doing a TESOL course too.... I really want to travel and I think that this would be an awesome thing to do... I was talking to someone who did one, and then taught English in Africa for a year... it sounded awesome.
