I agree with this, I think its a rather bad idea to do a Bachelor and the HSC at the same time - too many people think that by repeating your marks will suddenly go sky high with no effort and its just not true, you'll have to put genuine effort in to your HSC to do well, and you'd be doing it...

Its possible, a double degree doesn't neccesarily mean more work - just means you are at uni for a bit longer. I personally will be studying at 2 unis simultaneously and I have a considerable amount of spare time. So as long as you are enrolled in all the right units you don't need to worry.

You can pay in installments each semester you know, and your teachers will probably tell you what textbooks you need and yes you start on the Tuesday.

Your best bet is to find out from the universities themselves - look at what units you would be doing in your UWS degree and call up UTS/USYD/UNSW/MQ/UOW etc. and find out how much credit transfer you would get towards the degree you would apply for at that uni.
