To combine with Arts, or not to combine with Arts.

i've been told that combined degrees are preferred by many graduate employers as they can see that you've had a much more diverse educational experience etc. but having said that, if you're a great candidate it won't matter that much, so it's really up to you - it's really a toss-up between...

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

Hmm, i'm bored so i'll do my other subjects: MARK1012 Ease: 8/10 - really wishy-washy theory and just logical/boring general stuff. if you can bs* then you'll be fine. Lecturer(s): 6/10 - is not highly entertaining. persisted to go (first sem of my first yr, felt bad if i didn't) until i...

Why does everyone major in accounting?

yea i went through the same feelings/exp as -pari- there. i always had the stereotypical and personal viewpoint my entire life that accounting was boring, lame and "omg why on earth would i ever do it?!" - but as first level accounting subjects are core for commerce degrees, i found it to be...

Should I pick Textiles and Design?

my most favourite subject. the major project is hectic though, but if you believe you can manage it, then it should be fine! just make sure that your school has competent teachers for it etc and knows what the bos expects from the portfolio, major project etc, cos i know that a lot of people...

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

FREN2101 Ease: 9/10 - Did french beginners for HSC but had a really really good teacher so our standard was quite high. Wasn't too difficult. Lecturer(s): 6.5/10 - Very very funny man (Hughues). His lecturing isn't as great as his humour though, but still okayish... Michele as a tutor was...

    top in state??

Yes, I agree with that entirely - that was what I was trying to point out (that getting 100 in external, doesn't necessarily mean you'll top the state and get 100). Agreed. I think we've finally come to a mutual agreement. haha

    Accounting Cadetship 2008

Most people don't trust the statement of, even if you get "crap" grades but you have enough and respectable extra-curricular activities, then you have just as good enough a chance as someone who had amazing amazing grades. But this is > 200% true, based on experience, and also - i guess as...

    top in state??

lol i realise that. my example was highly exaggerated along those lines as i did not take into account scaling/moderation of internal marks. With your second example, 10 v 100 - true, that doesn't mean that, that is what you'll get. But what my point is, JUST because someone gets a 100...
  17. shoxgeneration

    top in state??

yes, that is correct. but if her external is moderated to 99/100, her internal stays the 92/100 since she tops her cohort at her school, she retains her internal mark. so overall, she doesn't get 99 or 100, she'd get (92+99)/2 = 96 (rounded up) - would she not?
  18. shoxgeneration

    top in state??

if you want to top textiles in the state, you basically need a 99% + there will basically always be someone who'll get 99 at the end at least, so just try harder. and when they publish the top candidates for textiles, its only top 5 due to it being classified as a small-candidature...
