    eco's half yearly

    Yeah, it was psycho. I felt like if I didn't wrap the MC up in 5-10 mins I wouldn't have even had a shot at finishing. I wrote just less than three pages per essay, pretty modest, but, yeah, with the time, who could blame me?

    eco's half yearly

    Ours was pretty fierce. 20 MC; 4 Short Answer (each about 2 pages long); and 2 essays all bundled into 2 hrs. I pretty much had to sacrifice all elegance and fire up with scribble just to get everything done. I'm pretty stoked about it though. Looking forward to finding out results. :)

    Help! Please!

    Note that enthalpy, in denotative terms, describes the heat content of a system, whereas an enthalpy "change" describes what xiao's just written (or, the thermal energy absorbed or liberated by a reaction). Make sure to watch out for confusion that may arise when comparing a "temperature" change...

    Half-Yearly Exam

    Ours turned out sooooo much softer than I'd expected! Peculiarly, I was more anxious going into this one than my Ext 2 exam but it shaped up to be a snack by comparison! 2 hrs long and finished with about 40 mins up my sleeve. I was all about the speed this time, so I hope I didn't drop too many...

    Integration Question

    That's right - I went an index too far ;) Thanks for that FD3S-R and ngai. I had my Ext 1 half-yearly today and that was the only question that spun me out and broke my rhythm (not sure as to why, though). You've lifted a huge weight for me (Although perspective's something I'm still deficient...

    Random tips for year 12s!

    That's bullshit. Energy drinks are completely innocuous, but, like with anything else, you should always exercise moderation. Anything's cool provided you don't drink/eat/do it in excess. ;)

    Induction --> inequalities

    Sure, but check my post on integration in this forum. I want somebody to confirm what I've written. 1. Prove for n = 5 LHS = 2^5 = 32 RHS = 5^2 = 25 Since LHS > RHS, true for n = 5 2. Assume true for n = k i.e. 2^k > k^2 3. Prove for n = k + 1 i.e. 2^(k + 1) > (k + 1)^2 2^(k+1) >...

    Integration Question

    Use the substitution t = u^2 - 2 to find the following indefinite integral: S [1/sqrt(t + 2)]dt From the relationship above, dt/du = 2u dt = 2udu, which is substituted for dt Also, u^2 = t + 2, 1/sqrt(t + 2) = 1/sqrt(u^2) = 1/u Now, integral can be written, S [1/u x 2udu] =...

    MY QUESTION IS, DOES LENZ"S LAW ONLY APPLY TO MOTORS AND HENCE BACK EMF?

    Hey man, 1. No, in AC motors, back emf always moves in the same direction. This is because it is a product of the motion of the armature through the magnetic field, and this rotation is always in the same direction. It doesn't matter that output alternates, because the motor always spins in...
