I cant find a voice for my 40-something year old male character! i know what he's like coz i did a profile and even wrote a detailed description of his physical appearance- ITS SO FRIKEN HARD! i sound "like a thesaurus" as one class mate put it (and a teacher who told me to "put the book down")...

i guess its post modern in the chronology of events- i mean those technical terms that teachers use about that "onion layer" thing for example where u reveal info to the reader gradually- thats an example- anyone know where i can find more specific info on such literary styles
