Yes, especially if you aim to capitalise on the downloadable content available further down the track. However, the thing you're foregoing by not purchasing a PS3 is a blu-ray player.

Edit: plus i can get you a bonus free game if you get a 360

yeah, than xbox 360 is worth it. you'd prob also want to buy a vga cable for it so you can play the games in high def on your 22"

While partly agree, MMORPG's are a rapidly expanding genre/industry.

Not really. Besides wow theres not much else. But I'd have to agree with stas, ever since the newest consoles hit the market pc gaming has started to become obsolete.

What a shame, now I have to go buy a console. :/

WoW turns over 120 million a month in subscription fees alone.

Total pc game sales in 2004 were 1.2 billion.

in 10 months subscription fees WoW alone = total pc game sales revenue for the year.

Might be outdated info, but that seems like a large market to me.

But you're right in that console is pwning the pc market.

that's 2004. a lot changes in 3 years.

edit:
Here's 2006 data for the US

PC: $970 million in 2006, an increase of about 1 percent of sales the previous year of $953 million, which represented about a 14 percent drop from $1.1 billion in 2004.

console games in 2006 were $4.8 billion; another $1.7 billion was spent on games for hand-held devices like Sony’s PlayStation Portable.

Nah what a I meant that there's essentially no market for MMORPG's because of WoW. And massive wtf @ those figures. Probably drop a shitload when SC2 hits the shelves.

I still don't think that the PC version would be worth my money as much as splurging on a console and its version of the game. Most people would need a system upgrade to do the game justice.
