    Transferring?? B.Sci --> B.Sci (Adv)

I really don't see a point of transferring into Adv sicence - that's my opinion. The best thing you can do is to get into Honours and try your best getting the highest possible mark. A first class Honours degree will go a long way and open a lot of doors, regardless of whether you are in science...

Fastest Way to University Lecturing position?

Yes I agree with everything RogueAcademic has already said. Omium, since you are doing a science degree, I suspect you would be interested in finding a job as a science university lecturer. There are 3 options: 1) Teaching/research academics - academics who does both research and teaching. In...

Easier courses = easier to achieve good grades? ( HD or D)

That's again, not true... I've done HSC chem and CHEM1011 and it is so much more difficult than HSC chem, especially the organic chemistry section of the course.

    General Education (Gen Ed) FAQ

Some online ones are really easy, some requires more work. I have two friends who did an online one and they completely hated it because the lecturer in charge was not very nice and amrked really harshly. I did the Energy and Mineral Resources one and I quite enjoyed it. The only thing was you...

    General Education (Gen Ed) FAQ

You may do GenEds any time within your degree. As long as you complete all 12 units of credit worth of GenEds before you graduate then it is fine. One of the reasons many students do their GenEds in 3rd year is because that's when they have free UOC (e.g. 48 UOC in both first and second year...

Bachelor of Pharmacy & Bachelor of Science?

As RougeAcademic has already stated, you need to complete a 4th (optional) honours year in the BSc (Pharmacology) after 3 yrs in BSc in order to be competitive to gain entry in to a research environment. A 3 year basic science degree or a pharmacy degree alone doesn't give you enough experience...

Bachelor of Pharmacy & Bachelor of Science?

Does a pharmacy graduate (4 years from an undergrad program) have the required research experience to do pure research in comparison with a science graduate with honours (also 4 years) in which they must complete 1 year of research? I thought B Pharm doesn't have an extended research component...

    Nanotechnology, or else!

I know someone who did Nanotech. The degree has a lot of emphasis on chemistry and physics. If you like both of these disciplines then I highly recommend it because nanotech has a lot of potential in terms of future research development.

    I need help

In session 1 you can choose BABS1201, which is the most basic biology subject. It does have a 2 hr lecture-4hr lab component. It's pretty hard not to get a lab component in any sort of biology related subjects. In BABS1201, you do a lot of microscopy work, looking at cells and cell structures...

    general UNSW chit-chat

It won't make a difference whether they return your e-mail or not. They wouldn't know the right answer anyway.

    Labs/Tuts/lec

When I first started I felt the same way. Really, all the lecturers know about back to back classes and they always finish 5 min early to allow you to get to the next class. Then they always start 5 min later. At UNSW, the only trouble is if you have to go from lower campus like Chem...

    uni in america

But surely her undergrad marks, extracurricular activities and GRE scores would be more important in the selection process than the name of her undergrad university.

    B (Adv/Honors) Science @...

I think all three choices are respectable. All undergrad science degrees are the same. Employers are not going to give a job to someone just because of where they got their degree. If you decide to do Honours (4th year), it is then the Class of Honours that will determine whether you get...

    What are my chances?

Yes, if you pick everything in arts/sci that can be transferred to your eng/sci degree, so you are not "wasting" any units of credit.

    The official Medical Science thread

Both would be excellent preparation for medicine. Undergrad science degrees are pretty much similar. Pick the uni you like the most and close to home.
