Bio Question to do with effect of Biotechnology advances on scientific thinking

First you need to know what taxonomy is. Define what it is and then relate that definition to its role in shaping our scientific thinking. Consider why scientists need to classify things to its precies group (genus, species)? What is biotechnology? What are some of the examples? What the...

The UAC publishes scaling of HSC marks every year. The top HSC mark in ESL, 97, was scaled to 100 for the calculation of UAI. What are you up to Eveline? At uni?

I'm not too sure. Check with your course coordinator/tutor/demonstrator. Some courses hand out free course manuals.

Yeah, PhD is going great - I'm 1 month into it now. I am still waiting for them to pay me for my scholarship. I am doing Peer Mentoring on Tuesdays. What day are you on? I am also teaching Med, and MICR2011 on Friday. Soemone asked me to tutor Microbial Genetics but I didn't want to. :P As...

2nd year fundamental biochem vs advance biochem

I mean it is entirely up to you. Personally I don't thin biochemistry is harder than subjects like physiology or histology. There is a lot of contents to be learnt in any of these courses. Biochemistry is definitely useful and can actually supplement your learning in physiology and pathology...

Never done BIO before. Really struggling in Microbiology and Physiology

What I would suggest is actually purchase yourself a Biology dictionary. It was very helpful for me in first year.

2nd year fundamental biochem vs advance biochem

The advanced course has more laboratory components when I did it. I think lecture materials are similar. I wouldn't worry about biochem if you wish to major in Path, Physio, or Pharm.

    Transferring from BPsych

A GPA is a GPA regardless of which uni you are transferring from. If you decide to transfer out from BPsyc (UNSW) after 1 year to another degree at UNSW, there is no specific GPA requirement (Assuming you are not failing) if the degree you wish to transfer into has a lower UAI cut-off than BPsyc.

    Need some clarification!

If you want a good income, Science is not for you. Go for medicine maybe?

Will biology be hard without chemistry

You will be fine. You don't really need much chemistry knowledge in biology. There is almost no overlapping between the two courses.
