According to our science head teacher... up to 90% of HSC Students are 'resting' or taking a break during this period, just before the 2 week holidays.

I can't really make a judgement about all the papers... but I have to say, this year's Independent Chemistry Paper was significantly harder than the CSSA... and also IPT Independent paper was harder than CSSA. I havent' seen any other CSSA papers.. so cant really make a judgement. But...

I thought they are allowed to tell you your overall rank...

You would have to maintain distinction averages to transfer... that's what I was told at USyd Open Day. Transferring into some courses is really competitive.

Apparently it is still going to run this year... doesnt it start on 1st October?

Well so far from the results I've gotten back, I got 90 in Economics and 95 in Biology (if you consider Bio and Eco hard subjects).

Got my MX1 result today.. 64/84 - 76% - 2nd highest mark in class. Top was 79% My school used a combination of questions from Independent and Western Region Papers.

Can you actually add new courses to your preference list after you submit/lodge your application?

I got two exams back today... Biology - 95% - 1st/5 Economics - 90% - 1st/8 Quite happy so far :)

I looked at the Chemistry CSSA 2008 Trial... and compared it with the Independent 2008... the Independent paper was much harder. It was definitely harder than the HSC would be.. good preparation I guess, but it was 35% weighting for us, so could affect my ranking big time.
