I have a few ideas for novels I would love to write.... mostly stuff based on life experiences of my own or other peoples..... it's just a matter of finding the time. And how do you start a novel? That's something that I find difficult to comprehend!!!! I wouldn't know where to start!

    Largest University.

UTS isn't small, sheesh! It has several campuses (city, haymarket, kuring gai, plus they own blackfriars)! CSU albury is so small lol. Even with Thurgoona campus. So is La Trobe Wodonga.... but CSU and La Trobe have large campuses in other areas.

It's like a 5 min walk from tower..... closer than it is from one end of the USyd campus to the other! Markets seems pretty cool, they have a nice union centre/bar and it's right in the middle of chinatown!

    East Asian Earthquake

That letter sums up this situation entirely. Did anyone hear/read Alexander Downer's statement on this situation? he sounded like a pretentious prick and made it sound like Australia was being Asia's hero because we are a wealthier country. Nothing compassionate. He was just concerned about...

    East Asian Earthquake

Now the confirmed death total is something like 87000 according to Sky UK.... it's just horrible. It makes you wonder if maybe instead of creating wars on terror and human conflict that we should be thinking more about taking care of our environment and living in harmony with the natural...

    Another question about B. Laws

Also if you do straight UTS communications you have to do 6 compulsory subjects + 2 professional subjects in first year. If you combine with law you don't have to do some of the first year compulsory subjects, they are replaced by law subjects instead. Plus you don't get as many communications...

ARTS and arts in social inquiry

You do media studies in a social inquiry.... two of the first year compulsory subjects are media studies subjects. I don't think you can change the first year program but I'm sure that tose subjects could be counted towards a UNSW or USyd Arts/Law degree because in arts you basically get to...

    journalism and law :)

If you want to be a journalist, UTS Journo/law degree is one of the most respected degrees in the media industry. If you don't want to be a journalist, the journalism degree still teaches you a lot of things that can be good for various jobs. - Clear concise writing -Good research skills -...

ARTS and arts in social inquiry

You can draw different arts subjects together in the one degree.... cultural studies, history/sociology, languages, media studies.... for your electives you can study whatever, stuff from other faculties and even other unis. UTS's "arts" degrees are specialized "communications" degrees which...

    Travelling Alone

Thanks for all your advice. When I moved to Sydney I was all alone so I have no qualms about that, but now that people have mentioned it, the short time frame would probably lend itself better to a tour rather than a backpacking adventure.... but it's all just plans at the moment! Thanks for...
