I moved from Albury to Sydney last year, approx 700kms. There are people from Tas, WA and SA in my course at my uni so there are people out there who move massive distances to go to uni.

As far as I know, in Info Management you learn how to be a librarian lol..... thats all I know about it. I think it is like social inquiry in that you learn about research methods.... I think you also learn about internet/webpages and presenting info online.... I don't really know a lot about...

USyd artificially inflates their media and comm course UAI by only letting a few people in. They do this in order to make them seem more prestigious than UTS communications.... Why else do they only let in 15 or so people when they already teach most of the subjects in the course in the general...

Probably better to start with communications, then drop it if you didn't like it, because it is hard to transfer in to communications.

Um that's not really what the course focuses on.... social inquiry is more research type stuff (as far as I understand). Public communication is advertising/marketing and PR (public relations)..... in pub comm you would learn how to "spin", come up with ideas for marketing/advertising...

I read somewhere (and I can't remember where) that Semester 1 this year starts on March 11. Can anyone confirm this for me or direct me to the part of the UTS website that will confirm this for me? It's just that I am trying to plan a holiday and need to figure out dates to get back to Syd, go...

Which is easier for you to travel to from home? That should be a pretty big consideration. Apparently KG is nice, but city campus has the advantage of being in the city... plus I've heard that a lot of people from the business faculty hang out at markets bar......

I agree with you hessie, that is the side of unionism that I absolutely detest. Also, I hate how it makes it difficult for employers to sack employees who are shit workers..... I mean, you shouldn't have to employ someone who is shit at their job!
