    OCing AMD64's

I dont know if your board supports higher or not as I stopped using Asus due to bad experiences with their boards. I would suggest that you make sure there isn't a hidden option (eg a key combination that unlocks more advanced settings like in most Gigabyte mobo bios's) as I would suspect it...

    Mobile AMD Athlon XP-M 2200+

I would tend to disagree, the architecture of the Athlon is such that it will perform similarly to a pentium without needing the clock speed. An Athlon rated at 2200+ should perform similarly to a pentium rated at 2.2ghz. This is due to differences in the architecture and as such, differences in...

    Concepts

I've decided for my BOW that I'd like to base it on fantasy, anime, thought, imagination or journeys or all of the above. Most of my art previously has been related to one of these and depending on which one, is usually done with pens/pencils or done digitally (both photo's, fractals, 3D gen and...

    AMD goes quad-core in 2007!

I'm still on socket A let alone running dual core XD

New Optus Cable plans include 256kbps uploads

To setup an FTP server initially i would agree with it being more work and torrents would involve a bit more work I spose, though still pretty easy =/ Each to his own I spose.

New Optus Cable plans include 256kbps uploads

MSN would be a rather ineffective way to share stuff I would've thought since it has rather poor resource utilization and cant pause/resume files...Wouldn't it be more effective for him to just setup an FTP server for his friends to access or create trackerless torrents only for them to download...

any AIM users? how do I turn that fuggin annoying sound down or off???

Judging from what you said, I think your looking for Setup > Preferences > IM/Chat/Mobile There are 2 "Sounds" buttons, click them and then untick everything in them and it should stop the sounds.

ATi prepares for slaughter as nVidia announces 512MB 7800GTX

Your not the only one who has that hobby =/ although I havent spent a great deal on it of late, my money all seems to be going elsewhere, though I'm not quite sure where >.<

X1800 series to be available in AGP

JKDDragon I'd have to agree with you, I don't see the point in buying a game if you can't get the most out of it. Now if only I could afford a decent system upgrade...

New Optus Cable plans include 256kbps uploads

8mbits/s divide 8 makes 1mb/s, which would be the theoretical maximum, though to utilize anywhere near that much, you would have rather large overheads which would probly cut it down to 750-850kb/s. Either way, thats a hell of alot better then 1.5mbit/s with a theoretical max of 192kb/s >.<

    AMD goes quad-core in 2007!

Theres been talk of these since before the dual cores were released, although it was estimated to be 2008 then, nice to see they are gonna be here earlier, especially since there was talk of Intel having quad cores out in early 2007, though I haven't heard anything about them since so I'm...

X1800 series to be available in AGP

Theres still the possibility it could be done using ATI's Rialto if someone decides theres the market for it, but I guess none of the manufacturers think there is. Not necassarily, could be Via :P

New Optus Cable plans include 256kbps uploads

Ya, but if telstra would just uncap ADSL1, we'd be able to get 1mb/s download speeds off of the 8mbit available on ADSL1.

    AMD FX-60s' in development

The single core Athlon 64's and FX's run alot cooler then then Athlon XP's and P4 Prescotts do, so even with dual core, chances are, they still won't be that hot and if they are, they'll be designed to cope with it, there are some very effective are coolers out there by the way, particularly in...

    New PC specs

Probably the same reason none of the ones here stock it...They suck. The 3200's do seem to have a reputation for overclocking, but so do the 3500's and as JKDDragon pointed out, thats if you get a decent overclock, there are a great deal of instances where you can't get a very good overclock...

    Inside the XBOX360 - Anandtech

I read some stuff about those physics cards not that long ago, it was my understanding that there were already some that were in use in some engineering workstations but were fairly uncommon. Though it's quite likely I misred. If ATI have implemented something like that in the R580 then it shall...

    Inside the XBOX360 - Anandtech

Ya, but theoretically it should be possible to use the same idea on PC video cards.
