As ive said many a time before, ultimately, you need to find a laptop that best suits your needs - feature wise. Personally, I like the Apple Powerbook (please dont start an Apple Vs Windows thread again), because it has so many features. It's a bit pricey, but I havent heard any complaints...

you may need to try using an adware removal program. Try adaware (www.lavasoft.de - i hope thats right) or SpyBot Seach & Destroy .. just do a google search and there will be many sites you will be able 2 download these two programs from.

Once again, you can try Knoppix as another alternative. A few of the main stream distros that install to the hdd also have a live disc avaliable - I think mandrake is one of those, but it has several in Computer Choice.

Logitech make good mice, I've got a microsoft one - but I got it for free. The other mice we have are Logitech, ones cordless but dosnt work - we dont know why, but thats the only time ive found a Logitech mouse not to work. If your into gaming, they put out some awesome gaming mice!

wireless routers usually should cover the area of your house + a bit extra. so coverage should be no problem for you. Once you get the router, and ensured your laptop has a wireless card (or on board chip) you should be fine.
