    Linux

or you can try Knoppix (just do a search for it in google) - you can test it out and see if u like it. Just download the CD image - burn it, and then pop it into your CD drive on system boot! It'll leave all your windows files in tact, but give you a good linux experience. If you like it - you...

    Installing Linux

I would *strongly* suggest installing it on a seperate system, I tried a dual boot system, and used partition magic - it stuffed my MBR to the point where the computer wouldnt boot with the hdd as the primary drive. I've since installed linux on several different, seperate, systems and it works...

if you havent used this USB mouse before - you may need to enable the use of a USB mouse in your BIOS. if all else fails - you can usually get a usb -> ps/2 adapter which should solve your problems.

yeah, we have a headphone rule - its either headphones, or no sound. people still bring speakers (eg me) for in between games when we wanna listen to music. One thing we dont do though (as it appears you do), is have alcahol to much of a risk with expensive computers - but i guess it might make...

    computer

We had a similar post the other day, I think the general concensus was that we all liked Toshiba laptops, and those of us who arent windows only guys, like Apple laptops as well. Another brand, which isnt always avaliable but proved popular was Fujitsu. Ultimately, as long as you get the...

    LAN Gaming/Parties

We actually charge people for our LANS because we organise pizza, drinks and we give a donation to the scout group, of whom we hire the hall from. How much would you be willing to pay for either a afternoon/night time (including dinner and caffinated drinks) and/or a 24hr over night LAN...

iinet will be one of the first companies in australia to open up ADSL +2 to the consumer - but I'm not sure when this will come in to play. They *reakon* they'll get speeds of up to 40M/bit ps - it seems insane.

    New MSN Messenger 7 leaked

i think what he is referring to, is by right clicking on a screen name, you used to be able to see their email address to identify who they were - even if their msn name was changing often.

    LAN Gaming/Parties

I'm just wondering if any of you have been to a LAN party.. or gaming center. What made it good, what made it bad - and what could have been done to improve it?? A friend and I run local LAN parties and we're just trying to do some market research to make the experience better for our gamers...

At 15months, it might be out of waranty - but im not sure about pioneer products. Chances are the lasers dead, and this may be able to be replaced - but if its out of waranty, its probally going to be cheaper for you to buy a new one!
